The latest Warhammer Grab Bag talks about the upcoming live expansion Land of the Dead. This Live Event will be arriving on April 20th, shortly after the release of Patch 1.2.1, but you can get the full scoop right now!

Q. Will there be new Tome content, such as item set unlocks, Tactics, and Trophies exclusive to Beyond the Sands?

A. The Beyond the Sands Live Event will boast new Tome unlocks and two unique Trophies (one per realm). There will not be any new Tactics associated with the event.

Q. Many Live Events give trophies as their “appearance” prize. Will we ever see Live Events that give pocket items or items for your left hand?

A. We have offered pocket items as Live Event rewards in the past (the Bitter Rivals event, for instance), but never left-hand items. We think that’s a great idea! Each realm will be able to obtain one Land of the Dead-themed Trophy from the Beyond the Sands Live Event. There will be no pocket items this time around, but it’s always possible that future Live Events will have them.

Q. Will the Live Event rewards be a Trophy, a title, or item-centric?

A. There will be all three!

Q. Will the Aviator Goggles have wards on them? Currently, it’s extremely difficult to find a reason to take off warded gear and lose the associated set bonus.

A. The Aviator Goggles will not have wards on them. They are not meant to be worn in combat, but they do have a very special and mysterious effect that you’ll have to discover for yourself….

Q. Will the map pocket item we created with the last Live Event be used in Beyond the Sands?

A. No, it will not.

Q. Every Live Event has given away an item as the grand prize. Will the item given away in this Live Event, if there is one, be bind-on-equip or bind-on-pickup?

A. The grand prize item, the Aviator Goggles, will be bind-on-pickup.

Q. Will there be groups of PvE spawns in PvE areas that need to be farmed, or will the focus be on RvR objectives?

A. The Beyond the Sands Live Event boasts a good mix of PvE and RvR content, but the focus will be on RvR.

Q. Will players that did not participate in the previous Live Event miss out on anything in the new Live Event?

A. Definitely not! We want all players to be able to enjoy the Live Events, so we design them to be accessible to brand new players and WAR veterans alike.

Q. How many tasks will be a part of the Beyond the Sands Live Event?

A. The Beyond the Sands Live Event is comprised of approximately 10 tasks.

Q. Will areas of the event be left open after the event ends?

A. Yes, they will. The event takes place in WAR’s current areas.

Q. Is there any chance we’ll see a rare world drop, bind-on-equip item like the “Battle Brew Backpack” in this Live Event?

A. Not this time around, but it’s always possible that future Live Events will have a rare world drop, bind-on-equip item associated with it.

Q. Will the entire event assume everyone is the same level or will it have different parts for every Tier to participate in?

A. Every Tier will have equal opportunity to be able to participate in the Beyond the Sands Live Event.

Q. How long will the event last? Will it be long enough so people have time to level up to participate?

A. The Beyond the Sands Live Event will last seven days, and has content for all levels. You won’t need to level up to a certain Rank in order to participate.

Q. Will there be new world bosses (Lairs) introduced with the Land of the Dead live expansion?

A. Yes, there will be new instanced Lairs in the Land of the Dead areas.

Q. Will the Land of the Dead content be limited to 6-man groups?

A. No, the Necropolis is a very large open RvR zone, similar to the size of Reikland and can accommodate groups of all sizes!

Q. Is the Land of the Dead zone big enough for my Rank 40 and a few early Rank 30 friends to roll in for PvE and gain up to Rank 40?

A. Absolutely! The Land of the Dead areas will boast new quests, instanced Lairs, and 18 new PQs! There’s plenty of ways to earn Exp.

Q. Are the mobs in the Land of the Dead areas world-type, instanced-type, or a mix?

A. The Land of the Dead areas are packed with all manner of monsters that range in difficulty from regular to lords and everything in between! The Lairs are instanced, but everything else is right out in the open!

Q. Are there going to be Battle Objectives in the Land of the Dead area, such as Keeps and/or BO’s?

A. The Land of the Dead areas do not have any RvR campaign-specific objectives such as Keeps and Battle Objectives, but you will be able to assault the enemy realm’s camp and airship.

Q. Will there be new Tome Tactics or Trophies to earn from the Land of the Dead areas?

A. Yes! There will be many new Tome Tactics and Trophies introduced with the Land of the Dead.

Q. Will the Land of the Dead area be instanced or do we walk there from another zone?

A. You will be able to fly to the Land of the Dead via an airship.
